| Curado D reels utilize a one-way roller bearing called Super Stopper. This provides a solid anti-reverse without backplay. The result are quick, powerful hooksets. Curado also features Assist Stopper. This is a back up ratchet-style anti-reverse system. Should the bearing begin to slip due to overlubrication or extreme weather conditions, the ratchet takes over and prevents the bearing from becoming damaged. This tag team style anti-reverse system provides not only the highest performance but also the greatest reliability and durability.
The Magnumlite spool is an extremely lightweight spool design. By using innovative drilling and support construction, the walls of the spool can be extremely thin without sacrificing strength. This results in the lowest startup inertia ever in a Shimano reel. The Magnumlite spool also requires less braking force for manageability during casts, so less distance is wasted. What this means is that the angler can cast lightweight baits farther and more accurately than ever before.
